Membership

Membership Categories and Dues

  • Individual. An Individual Membership entitles a single person age 24 and over without minor children to the use of all Club facilities, to any other privileges accorded members generally and to vote at all Club meetings. It is the responsibility of the Individual Member to notify the Club Treasurer of a change in marital status.  The initiation fee for an Individual Member is $2,500 and the annual dues are $525.  Once a Junior Member (i.e. the child of a holder of a Regular Membership) reaches the age of 24 he or she must join as a Regular Member in order to continue to use the Club facilities. The initiation fee for such former Junior Members is currently $1250 (50% of the normal initiation fee) which must be paid before that personís 30th birthday and while that person enjoys full Club privileges and pays annual dues, their membership remains on a provisional basis until the initiation fee has been paid in full. It should be noted that if the initiation fee for Regular Members changes, this special class of young members would be required to pay 50% of the normal fee in effect at the time of payment. Starting in 2013, a reduced annual dues payment is being made available to "Individual Members Under Thirty Years Of Age".  An "Individual Member Under Thirty Years Of Age" is defined as an Individual Member who has not yet turned 30 by June 1 of the billing year.  Individual Members who turn 30 on June 1 or after of the billing year are considered to fall into this category, as well as any Individual Members who are under 30 and do not turn 30 in the billing year.  Individual Members who have turned 30 by June 1 of the billing year will pay the regular Individual Member dues.  For 2013, the annual dues payment for an "Individual Member Under Thirty Years Of Age" is $300.
  • Family.  A Family Membership entitles an individual and spouse to the same privileges accorded Individual Members and entitles each child under age 24 to the use of Club facilities, subject to rules approved by the Trustees.  The initiation fee for Family Members is $2,500 and the annual dues are $750.  The initiation fee does not apply to a former Individual Member whose Club membership has not lapsed. Starting in 2013, a reduced annual dues payment is being made available to "Family Members Under Thirty Years Of Age".  A "Family Member Under Thirty Years Of Age" is defined as a Family Member who has not yet turned 30 by June 1 of the billing year.  Family Members who turn 30 on June 1 or after of the billing year are considered to fall into this category, as well as any Family Members who are under 30 and do not turn 30 in the billing year.   Family Members who have turned 30 by June 1 of the billing year will pay the regular Family Member dues.  For 2013, the annual dues payment for a "Family Member Under Thirty Years Of Age" is $500.
  • Sustaining Member. The Board of Trustees has established a Sustaining Membership, with reduced annual dues, for Members who do not plan to use the Club facilities during the summer and wish to retain their membership in the Club. The Membership is granted by the Trustees on a case by case basis and there are currently approximately 60 sustaining Members who pay annual dues of $80 each. The category is not intended as a means of granting Members who seldom use the Club a reduced rate and Sustaining Members who plan to use the Club facilities are requested to inform the Treasurer and pay the full dues.

Membership Procedures

A candidate for membership in the Club must be proposed and seconded in writing by four active Club Members, one of whom should act as the candidate's proposer. The candidate's proposer should obtain a proposal form from the Chair of the Membership Committee. The proposer is responsible for seeing that it is completed and that all supporting letters are provided.
